Medtronic of Canada Ltd., the Canadian subsidiary of Medtronic Inc., has officially opened its new Canadian headquarters. The new 85,000 square-foot (7,900 square metre) facility in Brampton’s Churchill Business Park will house Medtronic’s training and education centre, sales, marketing and administrative functions. Medtronic will relocate 100 employees to the new campus.

Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell commented, “We are pleased that Medtronic has decided to build its new campus in the City of Brampton. We are proud they are now part of our corporate community and we welcome them to our city.”

Neil Fraser, President of Medtronic of Canada Ltd. remarked, “We are very excited to occupy this leading-edge campus with a major focus on customer education, meeting space, and employee interaction; it’s an investment for our Canadian employees and our customers and the infrastructure required for our rapid growth in Canada. We are happy to have found such a great location for this campus and we are extremely pleased to remain in Peel Region to continue to grow as we have in the last 33 years.”

The construction – led by Orlando Corporation – utilized LEED philosophy (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) with a deliberate focus on implementing eco-friendly initiatives in the design wherever possible to get LEED certification. From workspaces to the cafeteria, meeting rooms and fitness facilities, the Brampton campus conveys a unique purpose and vision and provides the capacity needed to support Medtronic of Canada’s growth.
