Brampton Company Signs Contract With Major Ethanol Producer in China

Brampton headquartered SunOpta Inc. has announced that its' subsidiary SunOpta BioProcess(SBI) has been awarded a contract to supply a major ethanol producer in China with the Company’s proprietary fiber preparation and pretreatment equipment for use in the production of cellulosic ethanol.

Rejuvenating the Economy of Southern Ontario - The Honourable Gary Goodyear to speak in Brampton

North Peel students serve culinary creations to Olympic officials in Whistler, B.C.

From high school students to high-profile personal chefs-the transformation is like a reality show and three students from Brampton's North Peel Secondary School are the stars. The students and two staff members make up a unique Olympic team that is travelling to Whistler, B.C. from Feb. 10 to 17 to take over the kitchen at a Whistler chalet. For five days, the group will prepare and serve meals, ranging from full-course feasts to a 50-person cocktail reception, for Olympic officials and other international guests.

Province of Ontario Announces New Tourism Regions - Brampton Part of Region 5

Ontario is paving the way for a stronger, more competitive tourism industry by supporting the formation of 13 new tourism regions and Regional Tourism Organizations. This announcement includes the City of Brampton which is now part of Region 5, an area that also takes in Toronto and Mississauga.

The Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance (GTMA) has named economic development executive George Hanus as its new President and Chief Operating Officer.  The City of Brampton is a Partner in the GTMA and Mayor Susan Fennell is a member of its Board.

New University Celebrates Expansion of Programs in Brampton

Ontario's newest university officially celebrated the launch of satellite programs in Brampton with a series of open houses and a grand opening ceremony held on Thursday, November 26th at Algoma University's location at 373 Steeles Avenue West, Suite 205, adjacent to the campus of Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
