Magna investing in Next Generation Clean Vehicle Technologies

Manpower Survey shows Brampton companies plan to hire

Results of the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey indicate Brampton has the most positive hiring outlook in the GTA and one of the top among 46 communities looked at in the national study. It shows that 27 per cent of Brampton area companies’ polled plan to hire in the upcoming quarter (October to December 2011).

Brampton headquartered Atlantis Systems Corp., a globally recognized training systems integrator in the military and commercial aviation markets, has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Atlantis Systems International, also locally based, has been awarded a purchase order from AgustaWestland Limited to install an upgrade to the System Operator Console (SOC) on the Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) EH-101 Cockpit Procedures Trainer (CPT) located at AFB Karup, Denmark.

Brampton Businessman Vlad Stritesky Nominated for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year

Vlad Stritesky, President and CEO of Brampton based exp, is again among the Ontario finalists for Ernst & Young’s 2011 Entrepreneur Of The Year. Nominated in the Professional Services category Stritesky leads a multinational team of experts with specialization in engineering, project management, environment and urban planning. Magnum Pv set to begin Solar Panel Production in Brampton

Magnum Pv will begin production of high-efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) modules on its state-of-the art manufacturing line in Brampton this October. The production line was developed by German solar technology giant Schmid Technology Systems GmbH.

CN increases Brampton Intermodal Terminal capacity

CN has announced a series of capacity improvements to accommodate growing container volumes at the Brampton Intermodal Terminal (BIT). This follows CN’s April announcement about the purchase of 1,000 new domestic containers to better serve manufacturers and distributors of grocery and consumer goods.

The Canadian Space Agency will celebrate a major milestone on April 19, 2011 with the 10th anniversary of Canadarm2. Brampton companies see benefit as CN improves service for grocery and consumer goods market with acquisition of 1,000-plus domestic containers

To better serve manufacturers and distributors of grocery market and consumer goods in domestic markets across Canada and grow the railway's participation in the segment, CN has announced the acquisition of more than 1,000 new domestic containers. With CN’s largest intermodal terminal located in Brampton, local companies will benefit from this announcement.

Unilever Canada becomes the largest commercial purchaser of green electricity in Canada

Using their Brampton plant as a backdrop, Unilever Canada has announced that through Bullfrog Power they will become the largest single purchaser of renewable energy in Canada. As part of their Unilever Sustainable Living Plan they will be greening 59,000 MWh of electricity, enough energy to power 6,000 homes.

Q9 Opens New Data Centre – Brampton Now Home to Canada’s Largest Commercial Data Centre Campus

Q9 Networks, Canada’s leading provider of outsourced data centre infrastructure, will invest $125 million in a new 240,000 square foot Brampton data centre. Located adjacent to Q9's existing Brampton data centres, the new facility creates Canada's largest commercial data centre campus with capacity in place today to support eight megawatts of critical customer load. Capacity is being built out in phases, with sufficient expansion available on-site to support an ultimate capacity of more than 15 megawatts on the same campus.
