Magna investing in Next Generation Clean Vehicle Technologies
Using its’ Brampton Technical Training Centre as a backdrop Magna International Inc. recently announced it has partnered with the Province of Ontario to develop next generation clean vehicle technologies. The company will invest $430 million into 19 research and development projects over the next six years, with $48 million of the total coming from the Province.

Manpower Survey shows Brampton companies plan to hire
Results of the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey indicate Brampton has the most positive hiring outlook in the GTA and one of the top among 46 communities looked at in the national study. It shows that 27 per cent of Brampton area companies’ polled plan to hire in the upcoming quarter (October to December 2011).

Unilever Canada becomes the largest commercial purchaser of green electricity in Canada
Using their Brampton plant as a backdrop, Unilever Canada has announced that through Bullfrog Power they will become the largest single purchaser of renewable energy in Canada. As part of their Unilever Sustainable Living Plan they will be greening 59,000 MWh of electricity, enough energy to power 6,000 homes.

Q9 Networks, Canada’s leading provider of outsourced data centre infrastructure, will invest $125 million in a new 240,000 square foot Brampton data centre. Located adjacent to Q9's existing Brampton data centres, the new facility creates Canada's largest commercial data centre campus with capacity in place today to support eight megawatts of critical customer load. Capacity is being built out in phases, with sufficient expansion available on-site to support an ultimate capacity of more than 15 megawatts on the same campus.
