Farmers' Market

The Brampton Farmers’ Market runs from June to October, every Saturday morning, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.

Every Saturday, from mid-June to Thanksgiving weekend, Main Street North between Theatre Lane and Queen Street and Main Street South between Queen Street and John Street is closed to traffic and downtown Brampton is turned into a vibrant outdoor festival marketplace. Visitors gather to buy the freshest, local Ontario produce, hand-made crafts, preserves, baked goods and much more from more than 40 vendors.

Going into its 24th year, under the direction of the City of Brampton’s Economic Development Office, the Brampton Farmers’ Market has seen an ever-increasing attendance at this successful community event. In 2007, more than 60,000 people visited the Brampton Farmers’ Market during the 17 weeks that it operated.

The produce you select is picked only hours earlier…from the field straight to you with no stops, no delays along the way. Brampton Farmers’ Market vendors come from as far away as Beamsville, Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Vineland Station and as close as Georgetown but still within the 100-mile locally grown radius. Brampton Farmers’ Market is a producer-based, seasonal farmers’ market and therefore the customer can buy straight from the farmer.

The Brampton Arts Council works with the Brampton Farmers’ Market to bring local artists and craftspeople to the market. Artists’ Alley in Garden Square, beside CIBC, operates during the same hours as the Farmers’ Market. Brampton Arts Council members sell watercolours, dried-flower arrangements, woodcrafts, garden ornaments, and lots more… all unique and hand-made by the artists.

Take some time to browse through the unique downtown businesses that surround the market while you are in the area.

Free parking is available at the four municipal parking garages in the downtown all day Saturday – the City Hall Parking Garage, Nelson Square, Market Square and John Street (opening June 21,2010). All parking garages are conveniently near the Farmers' Market.

For more information, please contact the City of Brampton Economic Development Office at 905.874.5250 or e-mail bfm@brampton.ca.

Please note the market is full for the 2010 season, vendor applications are no longer being accepted.
