In June 2012, Gray Tools launched the Gray Tools Highest Standard Achievement Award and presented it to a graduating student at Judith Nyman Secondary School, a member school within of the Peel Board of Education’s vocational program. The award consisted of a master tool set valued at $3000, helping the recipient make the transition from student to professional mechanic.

The success of this location is attributed the longevity of staff and the ability to develop a superior culture of customer service, Thanks to the citizens of Brampton, this location became the highest volume Burger King in North America in 2010.

Established in 2006, Jade’s Hip Hop Academy is the fastest growing dance studio in the GTA. It is the only studio in Brampton that specializes in urban dance and teaches authentic Hip Hop. Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon is a program dedicated to enhancing the mobility of the City of Brampton and the Town of Caledon’s workforce.  An annual Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon membership provides area employers with customized commuter programs to make their employees daily commutes easier, cheaper and greener.  Current employer members include Region of Peel, City of Brampton, Maple Lodge Farm, Town of Caledon, Nestle Canada, Mars Canada, Hbc, Winners, Rogers Communications and Loblaw. In just five years, Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon prevented 2,758,230.5 kg of greenhouse gas emissions from entering our air, reduced more than 11,863,658 km of vehicle travel and saved $7,328,710.00 for registered commuters of Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore opened in the spring of 2005, selling quality used and surplus building and home improvement materials at a fraction of retail prices. Proceeds from ReStore support its affiliate, Habitat for Humanity, in building homes for low income families. ReStore provides an outlet for industry, retailers and individuals to donate home improvements materials, thus eliminating the cost of disposal. The concept is to reduce, reuse and recycle materials that would otherwise be put in landfill.

Almag Aluminum Inc. is a family-owned and -operated manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions and has been in business since 1953 and in Brampton since 1975. We are committed to supporting the community through many programs including: Portuguese Banda Lira, Sri Lanka Life Development Centre, Brampton Santa Claus Parade, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peel Region, the Rogers Pumpkin Patrol which helps to make sure that children are safe on Halloween and Phones for Food – a program where used cell phones are gathered, collected and recycled using the proceeds to support programs, such as the St. Louise Food Bank. Since opening its doors to the public in the 1970s as a strip centre, the Bramalea City Centre has undergone a variety of extensive physical and corporate change-overs. Morguard Investments Limited has operated the property since 2001 and recognized the potential for development and an increase in market share.
 
Being dominant in the trading area and not just Brampton, management decided upon a re-image and re-merchandising model that would lead to a major interior renovation in 2004. A total investment of $55 million was expended to increase lighting levels, soft seating areas and to create an upscale shopping environment. An additional expansion is targeted for 2010 in which $165 million will be invested to include an additional 275,000 square feet, 75 stores, underground parking to accommodate 550 stalls, a 4-tier parking deck and additional retailers in the peripheral lot at Dixie Road and Queen Street.

NAFTA Foods and Packaging Inc. is one of the leading private label and branded manufacturers in North America of gingerbread house kits, seasonal cookie kits and seasonal and everyday clamshell and tub cookies.
The Company began humbly in 1995 with a modest facility and minimal equipment. In the ensuing decade, NAFTA enjoyed significant sales growth, dramatically expanded its product capabilities and equipment. Today NAFTA occupies its own 160,000 square-foot building in Brampton, housing both executive offices and the manufacturing operation. Employing approximately one hundred and fifty (which expands to meet heavy seasonal needs), NAFTA enjoys sales across North America throughout all major channels of distribution.
 
NAFTA is a vertically integrated operation focused on three primary areas – those being baking, powder blending and custom packaging. It is an ISO 9000 registered Company, certified Kosher and is nut-free.
During the fourth quarter of 2007, NAFTA Foods and Packaging and Wal-Mart Canada teamed up to create a Happy Face Cookie for sale to the general public. For each cookie sold both NAFTA and Wal-Mart made a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network.

What began as a residential business has now become a full-time operation with an average growth rate (revenue) of 50 per cent a year and a move from a 1,100 square foot facility to a 3,700 square foot facility in Brampton.
expandAWARD OF MERIT – Magna Technical Training Centre
The Magna Technical Training Centre (MTTC), located in Brampton, offers apprenticeship and skilled trades training programs that are unique from any other program in the world. Blending North American and European skilled trade training methods, the MTTC provides students with a broad understanding and skills in various areas of the automotive industry.

Apprenticeship training is given in the student's specific trade area and cross-training is provided in areas such as basic electricity, CAD/CAM, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, robotics and welding. Apprentices are hired as Magna employees and are paid an hourly wage while being trained. The employment experience gained provides apprentices and trainees with excellent job skills and career potential within Magna, its customers and suppliers.

The MTTC also offers high school co-operative education programs in the above skilled-trade areas. Students who participate in these programs may be recommended for the Apprenticeship program upon completion of their co-op experience.

Magna Technical Training Centre is proud to be a part of Brampton’s community and to have served as an educator and skill builder in the community since 1998.
