2012 Flower City Parade

It was determined that having the planning and execution of both the Brampton Board of Trade Santa Claus Parade and the Flower City Parade performed independently by two different bodies is a duplication of efforts and resources, and that a collaboration between the two committees would be good for the community and ultimately for the parades. By working jointly, and leveraging each committee’s resources, both parades will be enhanced and the community will ultimately benefit.

2011 also marks the 26th anniversary of the Brampton Santa Claus Parade. The annual Brampton Santa Claus Parade was revived in 1986 after a ten year hiatus. In 1995, the format changed to a night parade and as a result the attendance quadrupled to an estimated 60,000 attendees. Since then it has grown according to parade organizers to be the largest night time Santa Claus Parade in Canada.

This year’s Flower City Parade will be augmented by the IIFA events happening in Toronto in upcoming weeks. The theme of this year’s parade is Brampton Welcomes Bollywood.
