Real-time next bus information

Real-time next bus information is available online, by email and phone. All you need is your four-digit bus stop number.

Phone

Phone 905.874.2999 and follow the instructions. Enter your four-digit bus stop number and hear the next bus arrival times for your stop.

Text

Text nextride@brampton.ca and include your bus stop number in the body of the text, for example *4007#
Note: Brampton Transit does not charge for the text service. However, depending on the type of service you use, you may be charged a per-message fee by your wireless provider.

Online

Visit www.bramptontransit.com and click on Next Ride.
a. Enter your four-digit bus stop number to view the next bus arrival times for your stop.
b. If you have a smartphone, bookmark the mobile site for quick access on the go: nextride.brampton.ca.

Email

Send an email with your four-digit bus stop number in the body to nextride@brampton.ca. You will receive a reply with the next times a bus is due at your stop.

Next Ride Notification
Effective May 13, 2013

Next Ride Notification is a free subscription service that lets you sign up for notification of when your next bus is departing from a bus stop.
Signing up is fast and easy! Visit the Next Ride page, click on the Next Ride Notification link and subscribe by using your email address. You can also add your mobile phone number to receive your information by text.*

You will then enter your four-digit bus stop number, select your route, enter a day of the week, and the time you want to be notified. You can select up to 10 different bus stops per subscription. Once you have entered all the correct information, select the notify box and save your information at the bottom of the notifications section.

It’s that easy! Now you will receive regular notification when your next bus is departing.

If you are accessing Next Ride via the Brampton Transit website

A bus stop can be selected in several ways:

  • If you know your Stop #:


  • a. Click on the “Find By Stop” tab and enter it in

  • If you do not know your Stop #, there are three ways to access next bus information:

    a. Click on the “Find By Route” tab, select your route from the drop-down list, then select your stop from the drop-down list.

    or

    b. Click on the “Find By Address” tab, type in your address and press Find. 
    A list of routes servicing your address will appear.
    Click on your route, and the stop closest to your location will appear on the map.
    Click on the bus stop (red dot).  An information bubble will appear and click on “Select this stop” to select it as your location.

    or

    c. Zoom into the area on the map that you are travelling from. Click on a bus stop on the Google map (red dot), then click the “Select this stop” link in the information bubble.

Once you have selected your stop, the real-time next bus arrival times will be displayed on the left-hand side of the page.

If you’ve already used this tool and cookies are enabled on your PC, the last five selected stops are kept under the “RECENT STOPS” list, and can be reselected.

If you are using Next Ride Mobile:

  • You must know your four-digit bus stop number to access the next bus information through your smartphone.

Next Ride is best viewed with Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Mozilla Firefox 3.5 and Safari 5.05.

expandWhat does CW, CCW, NB mean?
These are common abbreviations for the following:

CW    Clockwise
CCW  Counterclockwise
NB     Northbound
SB     Southbound
EB     Eastbound
WB    Westbound
 

NOTE: In the event of communication interference between our buses and the system providing real-time bus information, Next Ride will provide scheduled bus times until the interference is rectified.
