Fit Kids & Water Works FAQs Body Content Who is the target audience?Brampton elementary students in grades 1-5 and their teachers.Who is the program developed by?The City of Brampton Recreation & Culture division.Who are the program instructors?The program instructors are qualified City of Brampton staff. Is there a limit to how many sessions can be booked at one time?Three sessions can be booked consecutively and take place one after the other. Sessions can only take place one at a time, however. Each session can accommodate 2 classes, or up to a maximum of 60 students.What is the format for instruction? Is there opportunity for hands-on, play based learning?All three presentations incorporate activities and discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to actively engage during each session, whether it is through play or demonstrations. Is there a cost?The program is free for schools within Brampton.How long is each program?Each session is 40 minutes long.Is the Water Safety presentation available all year?The water safety presentation is only available during the Spring, from May – June.What does the Fit Kids portion of the program include?The “Fit Kids” portion of the program instructs children on the importance of fitness and being active. A large part of this program incorporates nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle.What does the Water Works portion of the program include?The “Water Works” portion of the program aims to develop awareness of water safety, including appropriate uses of life jackets.
