The City of Brampton enforces the Traffic By-Law 93-93 regarding residents being prohibited from allowing their pet to foul City property. Also, the City’s Parklands By-Law 161-83 requires all animal owners clean animal waste from parkland and boulevards.
Animal feces that are left uncleaned in parks and other areas pose a risk to your health. Young children are especially susceptible because they play and crawl on grass in public parks. To prevent the spread of disease, stoop & scoop and have your pet checked regularly by a veterinarian.
The best way to stoop and scoop is to carry a plastic bag with you when walking your dog. Once you remove the feces, tie the bag and drop it in the nearest garbage container. Remember to wash your hands as soon as you get home. By cleaning up after your pet, we as residents are doing our part in helping to keep Brampton clean and green!
