How long have you worked with the City of Brampton?

My career at the City of Brampton began in the summer of 2006 as a summer student. In 2007, I was hired as a full-time employee and have worked for three different sections within the corporation.

What does your job entail?

My current position as Project Manager at the City of Brampton includes designing, managing and implementing capital projects to improve traffic and pedestrian movement.

What do you like most about your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is being responsible for infrastructure improvements around the City. It is very satisfying to know that the design and construction of my projects will improve the lifestyle of Brampton residents.

What do you like most about the industry (working for the City)?

Working for the City of Brampton is great because of the diversity of the work. Every day is a different challenge whether it is finalizing a design, meeting with the public or visiting a site.

What do you think are key skills a person in this field should possess?

As a Project Manager, you have to be able to think on your feet as a wide range of challenges arise each and every day. You have to be able to think clearly and make decisions that are in the City’s best interest. A Project Manager should have great communication and writing skills as most days can be spent meeting with the public or writing reports for Council.​​
