How long have you been a Street Lighting Coordinator with the City of Brampton?

I have been acting coordinator for approximately two years.

What does your job entail?

My job duties are to review and coordinate all things street lighting for new subdivision developments, street lighting upgrades of failing and obsolete equipment, and road widening programs involving street lighting.

What other duties do you perform?

Responding to resident concerns, coordinating the City’s street light maintenance contract, locate contract and various other contracts.

What do you like most about your job?

There is always an obstacle to overcome on a daily basis. I like to solve a contractor’s unforeseen conflict and coordinate a resolution.

What do you like most about the industry (working for the City)?

I am proud to serve Brampton’s residents first and foremost and I recognise that I am fortunate to have such a great employer.

What do you think are key skills a person in this field should possess?

Interpreting design drawings and visualising the final product before it is conceived.

What are three courses that would benefit someone in your role?

Mathematics and Science are great to stimulate the brain and open doors to an Engineering degree. Choose something related to your hobby for the third course.​​
