Purpose

The purpose of the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame is to honour the history of sport in the City of Brampton and in particular those persons who have made outstanding contributions and achievements in the development of sport.

Categories

There are four categories of membership into the City of Brampton's Sports Hall of Fame: Athletes, Builders, Veterans, Teams.

Deadline for Nominations

Do you know someone who has made outstanding contributions in sport? Nominations for the 2024 inductees are open until June 14.

A nomination form can be downloaded here​. Completed nomination forms can be mailed to the City Clerk's Office, or faxed to (905) 874-2399.

Eligibility for Induction

Any person (defined to include a “team”) who is or has been distinguished as an athlete or as an executive member or coach, or who has brought honour to Brampton, shall be eligible for election as an Inductee into the Sports Hall of Fame, provided he or she was a resident of the City of Brampton, (or the former Village or Town of Brampton, or the former Township of Chinguacousy, or the former Township of Toronto Gore), at the time of the achievement, which is the focus for his or her consideration.

Should you wish to nominate a person, please read the eligibility requirements, and submit a nomination form prior to the nomination deadline. It is preferred that all persons submitting a nomination form include the signatures of the nominator and a member of the Selection Committee.​
