Brampton Tough Run is an exciting challenge for experienced and beginner athletes alike. Fee: Age 14-17: $18.75 | Age 18+: $25.00 (HST included) Registration: Registration for this event can be completed in-person at any City of Brampton Recreation Centre, or online with a City of Brampton Recreation registration account using the filter below. Other Details: This event is held outdoors, rain or shine, please dress for the weather. If severe weather occurs, event may be cancelled and participants will be notified. For more information, please refer to the following FAQ: What is the Brampton Tough Run?The Brampton Tough Run is an outdoor challenge-style race. It will consist of a run of approximately five (5) kilometres, with ten (10) obstacle challenges. The Brampton Tough Run takes place on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Chinguacousy Park (9050 Bramalea Road, Brampton). Who can register?Participants must be 14 years of age or older. Participants aged 14 – 17 must have their wavier completed in person by someone over the age of 18. Registration opens Monday, August 21, 2023 and closes Friday, September 29, 2023. No registrations after this date will be accepted.How much does it cost?The fee per person is as follows: Teen (14-17): $18.75 per person Adults (18+): $25.00 per person Fees must be paid at the time of registration. What are the heat times and course codes?The first heat begins at 10 am, with another heat beginning every ten (10) minutes. The last heat will be held at 12:30 pm. All heat times have 30 spots available. Can I register a team?All participants must register individually in a time slot. If you wish to participate with a group, each individual participating can register in the same heat/barcode, provided there are spaces available. Please note that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and spaces are limited. Can I register online? Yes, registration can be completed online by clicking here. Registration for the event can be completed online or at your closest Community Centre until September 29, 2023. We will not be accepting any registrations by phone. What if I do not show up, or need a refund?Refunds prior to the race date will be granted as per the City of Brampton refund policy. Refunds for no-shows on the day of the event will not be provided. What obstacles can I expect?Ten obstacle stations will exist along a 5km route. Previous year’s obstacles have included: ski hill climb and descent; agility activities; tire flips; load and carry; track activities; and weighted drag. What if I cannot perform an obstacle or part of the event or cannot finish?The goal of the Brampton Tough Run is to get people of all ages and fitness levels active and to have fun outdoors. Participants are welcome to bypass an obstacle(s). Participants will have a start time, but are not expected to finish with their group. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace and enjoy the event. What do I need to bring on the day of the race?We recommend that you dress in athletic attire and according to the forecast. Some participants like to wear gloves for some obstacles. A limited number of lockers will be available the day of on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must provide their own lock. The City is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items. Will there be water or snacks on the course?Water stations will be set up throughout the course. We recommend that you fuel up before the event according to your personal nutrition needs. After the race, a licensed cash BBQ will be available in the upper level of the Sandra Hames Curling Club. You will be able to purchase food and beverages at an additional cost. Can my friends/family watch the event?The park is open for public access and participants can watch their friends and family from multiple locations across the course.What if the event ‘sells out’?Once the event is full, we still encourage all participants join the waitlist, similar to our registered programs. Individuals will be contacted by email should space become available.Will there be first aid stations?Yes. Certified staff will be accessible throughout the course.What time do I show up on the day of the event?You must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your heat time in order to sign in. We recommend that you give yourself enough time to find parking, get your race wrist band, and secure your valuables prior to heading to the starting line for your heat time.What if I am late for my heat time?Please arrive on time for your scheduled heat time to ensure you are able to participate in the event.Will my event be timed/ are there prizes?The goal of the event is to get people active and provide an opportunity to try a new challenge. . The race is not timed, but you are welcome to time your own run.Will parking be available that day?Limited parking is available on site. We encourage everyone to carpool or to take public transportation.How will I receive pre-race information?We require an updated email address on your Recreation registration account. Pre-race information, reminders about arrival time, parking, and information about how to prepare yourself for the race will be communicated via email.What if it rains?The Brampton Tough Run is scheduled to run through rain or shine. Consideration will be made in extreme inclement weather.
