Brampton Celebrates Canada 150

Canada Day Banner

Saturday, July 1, 2017
12 pm - 10 pm

Celebrate Canada 150 right here at home. Chinguacousy Park is once again the place to be on Canada Day!

Main Stage artists announced!

Headlining the Main Stage in the Concert Zone is Big Wreck! They perform at 8:25 pm!

After achieving huge success across Canada and the US, Multi-platinum selling Canadian rockers Big Wreck released their fifth and latest studio album Grace Street earlier this year.

Grace Street is described as an album that continues to build on the creative momentum of their two previous JUNO-nominated releases, Ghosts and Albatross.

Heavy grooving tracks such as lead-off single “One Good Piece Of Me” and "Digging In” rub shoulders with the atmospheric “A Speedy Recovery” and the epic seven-minute instrumental “Skybunk Marché”.

At the core of Grace Street are live-off-the-floor performances by founding front man Ian Thornley on guitar and keyboards, accompanied by drummer Chuck Keeping, bassist Dave McMillan and additional guitarists Paulo Neta and Brian Doherty.

Opening for Big Wreck will be Yukon Blonde! They perform at 7:05 pm!

Originally hailing from Kelowna, British Columbia, Yukon Blonde has toured the US and Canada playing at many major festivals, and were nominated for a Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2013.

The release of their latest album, the catchy, more dynamic, On Blonde in 2015 is described as “an exercise in pop pleasures ranging from spiky guitar-driven tracks, to irrepressible sing-alongs such as the lead single, “Saturday Night”.

The album’s tone is a nod to the eclectic nature of the band’s Brit pop heroes and their willingness to reinvent their style from track to track.

Kicking off the main stage, will be a performance by Little Bones! They perform at 6:00 pm!

Little Bones has been Ottawa’s own Tragically Hip Tribute band since 1995, and continues to perform in and around our Nation’s Capital.

They have performed at major events and festivals at Landsdowne Park, the Congress Centre, and have shared the bill with acts such as April Wine, The Northern Pikes, and many others.
