On August 10, 2011, Brampton City Council approved the terms of agreement for the Southwest Quadrant Renewal Plan, which enabled the City to move forward with a creative solution to meet the City’s administrative space needs and plans for revitalization of Brampton’s downtown.
The project included a nine-storey building at 41 George Street, called the West Tower, and a two-storey addition to the current City Hall. This addition is connected to the West Tower by a pedestrian bridge over George Street South, known as Heritage Way.
The West Tower is a mixed-use facility that includes administrative space, community meeting rooms, parking and retail space.
Together with the existing City Hall building, this forms the City Hall Campus.
