Outdoor Rinks
The City of Brampton is looking forward to opening its three outdoor rinks for the winter season. Residents will be able to lace up their skates at Gage Park, Mount Pleasant, and Chinguacousy Park this year, but temperatures need to remain below freezing for an extended period in order to make and maintain the ice.  Please visit for updates on rink status. Remember, indoor ice rinks are open in all kinds of weather – check the website for drop-in schedules and Learn to Skate lesson information.

The Countdown is on!
This New Year's Eve, join us for fun, family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and fireworks at 9 pm and midnight over the Rose Theatre.

The City of Brampton is excited to offer an incredible roster of musical talent for this year’s FREE New Year's Eve concert in Garden Square, including headlining act The Sheep Dogs. Come to downtown Brampton to ring in 2018 with our all-Canadian concert line-up! The main stage kicks off at 7 pm.

The fun goes beyond Garden Square! This year, there will be a children’s dance party in the City Hall Atrium and craft station in the Conservatory. In Gage Park, get the party started at 5:30 pm in the gazebo with an emcee and music, enjoy skating on the open air rink, and warm up at a fire pit while roasting marshmallows.

FREE New Year's Eve Service on all Brampton Transit routes begins at 7 pm on December 31 and includes extended service on some routes.

New Year’s Eve is one of four approved days in a year when short-range fireworks are allowed on private property, without the need for a permit. Short-range fireworks are those that tend to travel less than three metres (10 feet) when set off (e.g. fountains, wheels, ground spinners, sparklers). All other rocket-type fireworks are banned in Brampton. The City reminds residents that fireworks are not allowed to be used on the street, sidewalks, within City parks or on municipal or school properties.
For more information, visit

When using short-range fireworks on your property, you must follow these safety precautions:
• You must have a container of water or a hose line that’s filled with water available to extinguish fireworks
• You must never light a firework or hold a lit firework in your hand, other than a sparkler
• After using sparklers, place them in a container of water to fully cool before disposal
• Allow all fireworks to fully cool before disposal
