Brampton Transit service improvements effective September 3

BRAMPTON, ON (August 9, 2019) - Beginning September 3, 2019, Brampton Transit will implement several schedule improvements and add two new routes – 28 Wanless and 81 Mayfield West – and a new service, 50A Gore Road.

Route 28 Wanless

Route 28 Wanless will service the growing Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, operating from Mount Pleasant GO Station to Hurontario Street, south of Wanless Drive. The existing routes in Mount Pleasant – routes 26 Mount Pleasant and 27 Robert Parkinson – will be realigned to provide more service coverage to the community, with additional weekend service.

Route 81 Mayfield West

Route 81 Mayfield West will offer service from Brampton to Caledon. It will operate between Sandalwood Loop and Newhouse Boulevard/Bonnieglen Farm on Kennedy Road in the Southfields Village neighbourhood.

Route 50A Gore Road

Route 50A Gore Road is a new service to help support ridership growth, particularly in weekday peak periods, and increased ridership to Humber College. Trips will operate between Gore Meadows Community Centre and Humber College in the weekday AM peak.

Brampton Transit will also improve existing schedules and service frequency to support an increase in ridership and connections, including new seven-minute frequency on 502 Züm Main on weekday mornings, and five-minute service westbound from York University on 501A/501C Züm Queen.

A preview of the schedules and new route information can be found at www.bramptontransit.com.

Brampton Transit’s service information brochure – Read & Ride – will be available at its Clark and Sandalwood facilities, and aboard buses beginning this weekend. The Read & Ride and Rider Guide (System Map) will be available at terminals beginning the week of August 26.

Brampton Transit staff will be at Transit terminals from August 26 until September 6 to engage with riders about the upcoming service improvements.
