Brampton announces new Chief Administrative Officer

​BRAMPTON, ON (October 18, 2019) – Brampton City Council is pleased to announce the unanimous appointment of David Barrick as the City’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

Mr. Barrick joins the City of Brampton with a blend of private and public sector experience, including as Director, Corporate Services and Acting CAO at the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.

Mr. Barrick will commence his duties with the City on October 23, 2019.

At its August 7, 2019 meeting, City Council established a Chief Administrative Officer Recruitment Committee. The Committee was chaired by Mayor Brown and comprised of all members of Council.

The City retained national executive search firm Feldman Daxon Partners to conduct the recruit for this significant leadership position. Feldman Daxon Partners is Canada’s longest-standing national provider of executive search services. The role of the Committee was to facilitate the recruitment process and offer all Council members an opportunity to interview prospective candidates.
