City hosting second annual Sports Day in Brampton

Try a sport for free on Saturday, April 6.
 
​BRAMPTON, ON (April 2, 2019) – Residents are invited to learn about sports in our community at the City’s second annual Sports Day in Brampton on Saturday, April 6, 2019.

This event is for anyone looking to get active, connect with minor sports groups in Brampton, or try new sports and activities.

Free drop-in sports include gymnastics, softball, baseball, lacrosse, kabaddi, cricket, soccer, track, wheelchair basketball, hockey, swimming and more. They will take place from 10 am to 4 pm at the Brampton Soccer Centre and Cassie Campbell Community Centre.

Programming is provided by the City, its affiliated youth sports organizations, the Brampton Sport Alliance and other community sport providers. Families are invited to connect with our local minor sport groups, and learn more about their programs and the wide variety of activities available across Brampton.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter a draw to win a prize when they collect three stamps at the event – one for each sport they try that day.

• Brampton has more than 268 indoor and outdoor sports fields, 30 recreation facilities, 15 ice pads, 13 swimming pools, seven fitness centres, four outdoor skating rinks, one 9-hole public golf course and one ski hill
• The City’s top three registrations are in swimming, camps and sports
• There are 20 youth sports affiliate groups with 20,000 participants, and 80 adult community groups, in Brampton
