Brampton’s 2019 Community Grant program application process now open

​BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton offers financial support to local community organizations through the 2019 Community Grant program. Brampton-based, not-for-profit organizations and registered charities who fall under the program’s funding streams are invited to apply for funding before January 31, 2019.

Funding Streams
• Festivals and Events
• Arts and Culture Programs, Projects and Capacity Building
• Recreation and Active Living
• Sport Tourism Hosting
• Neighbourhood Initiatives
Note: The Neighbourhood Initiatives application window opens January 3, 2019. Applications will be reviewed at the end of each month until the end of the calendar year or until all funds have been awarded.

Interested applicants can learn more about the program and how to apply by meeting with the Community Grant Coordinator (by appointment), or by dropping in at an information session. These information sessions will be held at local recreation centres throughout Brampton from December 17, 2018 to January 24, 2019. For times and locations, visit www.brampton.ca/communitygrants.

“Brampton’s community organizations make a huge contribution to the vibrant cultural life in our city,” said Mayor Patrick Brown. “The Community Grant Program provides direct, tangible support for events and initiatives that residents care about.”

The City, in partnership with Work in Culture, will host two workshops to help local organizations develop their grant-writing skills and learn more about how to secure funding:

The Community Grant Program’s priority is to support community activities that focus on celebrating Brampton’s diverse communities while encouraging engagement and connections and
building community attachment and civic pride. Recommendations for funding approval will be brought to City Council in late February 2019.
