BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton is offering free, family-friendly bus tours on Tuesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 23, to share the City’s history and services with new residents.
The City has offered this award-winning community program since 2009, through a partnership between the City’s recreation division, Brampton Transit and Brampton Library.
Breakdown of the three-hour tour:
• Visit a community centre to learn about recreation opportunities and facility amenities
• Explore one of six library branches to discover the diverse resources available and how to access them
• Ride a Brampton Transit bus and receive a hands-on workshop about Brampton’s transit map, the advantages of PRESTO fare cards and when riders need a transfer
The objective of the tours is to be informative and entertaining, with quizzes and prizes to keep things educational and fun.
Registration is now open! Residents who moved to Brampton after January 1, 2015 are invited to attend. For more information, contact the Brampton Library at 905.793.4636, visit any Brampton Library branch, or check http://www.brampton.ca/EN/residents/recreational-Activities/Pages/Bus-Tours-for-Newcomers-.aspx
“These Bus Tours are an innovative way to welcome new Brampton residents with information on municipal services that support and enrich their day-to-day lives. The hands-on learning and personal touch offered in this program help to make our city a friendlier place for everyone who settles here.”
