City of Brampton seeking performers for 2018 busking season

​Applications now open

BRAMPTON, ON – The City of Brampton is calling all street performers to apply for the 2018 busking season and help animate public spaces across the city.

Interested performers are asked to review the City’s guidelines and submit a short audio or video performance along with a completed application form to culture@brampton.ca, or in person to the Economic Development and Culture Office at Brampton City Hall.

The deadline for submissions is April 27; successful applicants will be notified in early May. Permits will be issued by June 1 and are valid for the City’s busking season from June 1 to November 30, 2018.

Applicant guidelines:
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Maximum number of performers per group is three
• Must provide own amplification or play acoustically while performing
• All performances must be suitable for a general family audience

New this year, qualifying street performers will be invited to perform at select transit terminals to help liven up the daily commute. Buskers can also be found contributing to the vibrancy of the City’s public markets throughout the summer.
