Registrations must be filed in person (or by an agent) during regular office hours, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, on weekdays starting May 1, until October 19, 2018. Applicants must provide proof of registration eligibility. Only original documents will be accepted; faxes or other electronic versions are not permitted. Third party advertisers must file their registration papers prior to receiving any campaign contributions or spending any funds for election purposes.
A list of nominated candidates and registered third party advertisers will be regularly updated and is available at www.brampton.ca/BramptonVotes.
“The recent changes in the Municipal Elections Act include a shorter nomination period for candidates and the addition of third party advertising rules. It’s important that potential candidates and third party advertisers familiarize themselves with the legislation and with what’s expected of them during an election campaign.”
- Peter Fay, City Clerk and Returning Officer
