Four new members to be inducted into Brampton’s Sports Hall of Fame

BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Sports Hall of Fame will induct four new members in 2018.

In the Builder category, powerlifter Harnek Singh Rai will be inducted for his contributions to the sport as a competitor, organizer, coach and referee. Rosemary Miller will also be inducted as a Builder for her years of dedication to tennis in Brampton, and her leadership in promoting 55+ sport. In the Athlete category, Mike Weaver will be celebrated for his career in hockey, including 16 years in the NHL. Richard Souce will join the Hall of Fame as an Athlete in recognition of his success as an amateur and professional boxer.

The 38th Annual Brampton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Tuesday, May 15 at the Rose Theatre Brampton. A cocktail dinner begins at 6 pm followed by the induction ceremony and reception. The keynote speaker for this year’s event will be former CFL quarterback and four-time Grey Cup Champion, Damon Allen

The Brampton Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1979 by a group of dedicated sport enthusiasts, in conjunction with the City of Brampton. It is located in the Powerade Centre on Kennedy Road, south of Steeles Avenue.
