Regional Councillor Sandra Hames

 City Hall
As a Regional Councillor for Wards 7 and 8, I am immensely proud to live and work in a city that truly works beautifully. Brampton offers numerous opportunities, facilities and services to all citizens. Be it business opportunities or recreation facilities, entertainment or shopping, sports or outdoor lifestyle - our city has it all.

In the heart of Bramalea, Chinguacousy Park offers activities for people of all ages every month of the year. The recent investment of $34 million shared by the provincial and federal governments allowed the City to upgrade our ski chalet, curling rink, and tennis courts. In addition, there is a new running track, plus a much-needed pavilion at the west end of the park with washrooms and a snack bar.

As parents and grandparents, the safety and security of our home, neighbourhoods and community is a priority for us. We are proud to work with Brampton Safe City Association to help Brampton earn its
redesignation by the World Health Organization as a Safe Community. This gives us peace of mind that strong partnerships and programs are in place within all sectors of our community, including government, health, and emergency services.

Accessibility for all persons is a priority for your Council. With legislation mandated by the Ontario government, Brampton has acted quickly to ensure that buses, playgrounds, taxis and buildings are accessible for everyone. Although there is much more work to do in this area, we are working hard to break down barriers for those needing accessibility.

We are fortunate to live in this amazing city that has so much to offer every season of the year.
