According to the 2011 census, Brampton has the second highest growth rate among Canada’s 50 largest cities. It is the third largest municipality in the Greater Toronto Area, fourth largest in Ontario, and is the ninth largest city in Canada.
Growth can be an exciting opportunity for any city. Planned growth attracts jobs and investment and improves the quality of life for residents. Since 2003, the City has implemented a Growth Management Program to respond to the opportunities and challenges of the high rate of growth that is expected to continue in the future.
