Councillor Moore believes in supporting programs and policies that strike a balance between growth and residential interests.  Community comes first and she considers that the best solutions to problems are ones driven from the bottom up and not the top down. Councillor Moore supports the need for Council to be accountable and govern themselves with the highest level of integrity and transparency.  Her top priorities are taxes, crime and safety, and managing growth.

Councillor Moore has served her residents for the past 22 years.  First, as a Peel District Public School Board Trustee for 11 years, followed by City Councillor for Ward 1 for one term, and presently as a Regional Councillor for Wards 1 and 5 for the last 7 years.

Currently Councillor Moore is Chair of the Region of Peel’s Heath Services Committee.  She is also a member of the Region’s Audit Committee and the Grant Ad Hoc Committee.  Councillor Moore continues this term on the Inter-Municipal Planning Subcommittee, Intergovernmental Relations Advisory Committee, the Waste Management Subcommittee and the Integrated Municipal Enforcement Team (which joins Peel Police, City By-Law and Fire Enforcement staff), as well as other key policy committees at the Region.

Councillor Moore is a member of all standing City committees.  She is the Chair of the Taxicab Advisory Committee and Vice Chair of the By-laws and Licensing Subcommittee, as well as a member of the Flower City Strategy Committee, and the City’s Audit Committee. Last term she introduced the Ways and Means Committee as a result of the City’s desire to ensure the cost efficiency of Brampton’s various City run programs and internal processes.   She is Council Liaison for the Historic Bovaird House and on the Board of Directors for the Brampton Downtown Development Corporation, and Brampton Civic Hospital Community Advisory Committee.
