Andrew McCandless Park

The City has started construction of a new park, Andrew McCandless Park,  located just south of Jean Augustine Secondary School on the southeast corner of Mississauga Road and Bovaird Drive West. It is expected to be completed by Summer 2017. ​​​

​The park will include: 
  • Playground structures
  • Water play / splash pad
  • Skateboard facility
  • Multi-purpose courts
  • Comfort station (washroom)
  • 2 lit soccer fields
  • 2 shade shelters
  • 1 cricket / soccer combo-field(s)
  • Pedestrian walkways and trails
  • Parking lot
  • Park and sports field lighting
  • Seating areas and picnic tables
The park includes part of the Huttonville Creek and construction will also focus on the naturalization and rehabilitation of the creek. This includes:
  • Wetland
  • Naturalized drainage swales/ Vegetative swales
  • Naturalized plantings of wetlands and valley corridor; and
  • Passive recreational trail community connection
