The City offers several incentive programs to stimulate development and support community-building goals.

Development Charges Incentive Program

The Development Charges Incentive Program supports intensification and mixed use development in specific areas within the Central Area by providing relief from City Development Charges.

The Incentives are based on a scoring systems, and limited to specific types of development. Contact the Office of the Central Area for more information.

Downtown Facade Improvement Program

This program supports the ongoing revitalization of the Downtown core, providing grants to offset costs related to facade improvements for landowners and businesses.

Downtown Building Improvement Program

Similar to the Facade Improvement Program, this program provides grants to offset costs related to improvements to building systems and tenant space and encouraging reinvestment in buildings Downtown Brampton.

The Downtown Building Improvement Program is a matching grant program which provides property owners and tenants grants of up to $20,000 per street address or storefront.

Sign Permit Subsidy Program

The Sign Permit Subsidy Program supports business owners and those wishing to beautify their businesses in the Downtown core and along Queen Street West and Main Street North. It also seeks to support a general improvement in the quality of signage in the area.

Display Wares and Services By-Law Application

The Display Wares and Services By-Law Application is to encourage business owners to improve the appearance and functionality of the downtown core by facilitating the installation of display wares in accordance with the public right of way. The wares and displays are temporary in nature and can include: flowers pots, planters and small patio pots.
