Main Street South Heritage Conservation District
An informal Public Information Session was held on Tuesday June 14, 2011 for the proposed Main Street South Heritage Conservation District. The Session was held in the City Hall Atrium, 2 Wellington Street West in Brampton from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.
Information was shared on the proposed district area and characteristics; the draft statement of cultural heritage value and there was an opportunity for all stakeholders, including local residents, to offer input. It was well attended with over 40 participants. Thanks to all - the discussion was lively and interesting!
The following are the consultants’ slide presentation and presentation boards:
The Main Street South Neighbourhood is one of several potential Heritage Conservation Districts (HCD) within the downtown area identified in the 2009 Downtown Heritage Conservation District Feasibility Study. Approved by Council, the Main Street South HCD is our first potential downtown district. ERA heritage consultants were hired to work with City staff on the Main Street South HCD plan and guidelines.
