The City of Brampton kicked off the Christmas season with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Brampton. Brampton residents and visitors enjoyed an evening of Christmas cheer as they strolled through Downtown Brampton to the sights and sounds of Christmas. Gage Park was host to the kids zone, and included a dance party in the Gazebo, an outdoor movie theatre and cookie decorating. Wellington Street once again had the large polar bear inflatable slide, Beaver Tails, and new this year was the McCafé beverage truck.
Ken Whillans Square was once again the place to be to see the large 60-ft spruce tree lit for the season. Performances were spread over 3 stages, and there was something for everyone. City Hall doubled as a warming station, but was packed with entertainment for the whole family. Whether it was sending an email to Santa, or creating a festive craft, residents and visitors enjoyed the sounds from the Chinguacousy Secondary School Choir and Band. Lastly, EB Games had the Nintendo Joystick on display for everyone to try.
