Public Open House

On June 26, 2013 from 7pm-9:30pm, the Heritage Theatre Block Public Open House was held at the Central Public School Auditorium, 24 Alexander Street.

Approximately 60 local residents and interested parties turned out to share their thoughts and ideas.  The presentation to attendees provided information on potential adaptive reuse scenarios for the Heritage Theatre Block. To view a copy of this presentation, please click here.

The following questions were used throughout the consultation process:

  • What stands out for you about the adaptive reuse concept outlined in the presentation?
  • What adaptive reuse ideas do you like?
  • What adaptive reuse ideas don’t you like?
  • What additional ideas do you have that were not presented?

The results of the consultations were reported to Council on December 14, 2012 and have played a role in the development of the scope and terms of a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI).  The RFEI is intended to stimulate and assess interest in the Heritage Theatre Block opportunity and is expected to be released in 2013.
