Heritage Theatre Block

Heritage Theatre Block Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) Process

A potential mixed-use development and community cultural hub in downtown Brampton

The revitalization of Brampton’s downtown is rooted in a commitment to create a more liveable, healthy, safe and vibrant community, which is woven into the fabric of the broader city. As part of the City of Brampton’s ongoing downtown revitalization, the development of the Heritage Theatre Block represents a long standing desire by the City, local arts-culture individuals and organizations, business interests and a variety of community interests to transform this site. The City is now taking a major step forward.

The opportunity of creating a dynamic enterprise that includes arts and culture will require an innovative approach – one that is engaging, viable and visionary. The City is embarking on a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) process for the Heritage Theatre Block, toward the goal of articulating and advancing a compelling concept that captures the synergy of market interests, culture, community, and downtown revitalization. The Block presents a significant opportunity to merge business and culture as drivers in the revitalization of the City’s downtown to create a community cultural hub.

The City has retained Artscape as a mentor and subject matter resource through this RFEI process. Artscape is Canada’s leading practitioner in multi-tenant space development for the arts and culture sector.
